We are currently accepting applications for our fall semester courses which are scheduled to begin in August 2022. Students in grades 6-12 and adult learners are eligible to apply. Applicants and their parents/guardians will be contacted by email to schedule an interview with the Director of Virtual Learning. Our enrollment meetings are scheduled to begin in mid-June 2022
The Miner Academy is a program of the Linton-Stockton School Corporation. The Miner Academy contracts with a third party to provide a grade-level curriculum. Although there is a virtual instructor available to support the student's learning, it is important to understand that the curriculum is pre-developed and not differentiated. In order for a student to be successful in the Miner Academy, they must be able to do the following:
- Read within two years of grade level
- Adeptly use technology
- Have daily access to the internet at home
- Be able to work independently with minimal adult supervision
Miner Academy Goals
The goal of the academy is to provide flexible options for a quality education to meet the varied needs of our students. At Linton-Stockton we understand that our students come to us with many different learning needs. We also understand the value of a high school diploma in today’s society.
Our curriculum and selection of courses will prepare you for whatever post-secondary goals you may have. As a student in the Miner Academy, you will be participating in all standardized assessments, ensuring you are progressing toward an Indiana high school diploma.
