Cause for applause September recipient

A mathematics teacher at Linton-Stockton High School is the most recent Cause for Applause winner. This is a monthly award from the Linton-Stockton School Corporation for those who go above and beyond their normal duties.

This month, Jessi Stanton won the honor. The person that nominated Jessi stated “she is an awesome teacher who is willing and able to go beyond what is expected. She helps her own class and works hard at making sure her students get help with other math classes that they are taking. She is not focused on the grade that they make in her class but that her students learn.  She truly cares.”

Jessi started as a mathematics teacher at Linton-Stockton High School in August of 1999.  She is a graduate of Shakamak High School.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University in Mathematics Education with a minor in Chemistry.  She received her Masters of Education from Olivet Nazarene and her building level Administrator’s license from Indiana State University. Jessi is married to Colt, who is employed by Duke Energy.  They have two children, Claire, age 10, is in the 5th grade and Clark, age 6, is in Kindergarten.

When asked what she does in her free time, Jessi stated that she “enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially if it is somewhere on the water. I enjoy swimming and being outdoors.  I love to go to sporting events, especially if my kids are playing.  Reading is something I enjoy doing when I have the time.  I also enjoy trap shooting with my husband.”

Congratulations Jessi on being named the September Cause for Applause award recipient!
