Linton-Stockton Elementary First Grade Teacher’s Assistant, Janet Wade, is the April/May Cause for Applause recipient. This is a monthly award from the Linton-Stockton School Corporation for those who go above and beyond their normal duties.

The person(s) that nominated Janet stated, “Janet Wade is one amazing lady! She is always friendly, kind, compassionate, and caring to students and staff members alike. She always has a smile on her face and is the first one to ask if she can help you if a situation comes up. When I started work here in 2004 , she was one of the first staff members to welcome me to the school family. She genuinely cares about her co-workers and their families. She is just a "people person”.” “Janet is always so attentive and kind with all of the children in our building. She never hesitates to volunteer where needed and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Janet has a way of making the children feel special and cared for no matter what the situation may be. She is a very important and appreciated part of our elementary staff, and definitely leads by example in all aspects of her job.” “I would like to nominate Janet Wade for the Cause for Applause award. Janet has been an assistant in the elementary for almost 28 years and has been my assistant for 24 of those years. Janet is one of the kindest and most hard working individuals that I know. She is always going above and beyond to help teachers but more importantly, helping our students. She is someone that is always looking for a way to help or for a job that needs to be done. If doesn't matter what is asked of her, she will always be glad to help. Janet loves working with all students but is partial to working with students that seem to be struggling or just need a little extra love and attention. Janet can take a student or group of students and in no time have them growing by leaps and bounds. She always seems to have several tricks up her sleeve that helps the students that she works with. I have always told her that she missed her calling of being a teacher. Janet is usually one of the first people to ask what she can do or how she can help whether it is in the classroom, a school function or something with her church. She has a biggest heart and is such a giving and kind person. Janet has become more like a sister to me than a friend or colleague. She has been by my side and been my biggest supporter as I was raising my boys, when I lost my dad and during my most difficult days of losing Evan. Janet stepped in and took over my room while I was gone and never missed a beat. I came back to a class that had grown by leaps and bounds while under her guidance. The staff and students love Janet. She is such an asset to our school and will truly be missed as she enters this next phase of life....retirement.”

Janet started here career at Linton-Stockton Elementary School in 1990. She was a high school graduate from South Spencer high school in 1974. She also has a dental assistant certificate from the University of Southern Indiana.

Janet and her husband Steve have been married for 42 years and have raised 2 sons, Bart (wife Lori, 3 sons, Drew, Ben, and Lincoln) and Logan (wife Brandy, 1 son river, and 2 daughters Willow and Naomi). Janet loves to travel, going to concerts, and most of all spending time with her family.

Janet states, “I’ve enjoyed my 28 years at Linton. It is so rewarding to watch the first graders blossom throughout the school year.”

Congratulations Janet on being named the April/May Cause for Applause and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS on your retirement after 28 dedicated years to the Linton-Stockton School Corporation. janetBoard President, Ralph Witty presents Janet Wade with her Cause for Applause award.
