A teacher’s assistant at the Linton-Stockton Elementary School is the most recent Cause for Applause winner. This is a monthly award from the Linton-Stockton School Corporation for those who go above and beyond their normal duties.

This month, Sheila McCammon, won the honor. The person that nominated Sheila stated that she, “is always putting others first before her own needs.   She always has a smile on her face, even when things aren't going the greatest in her life.   She always has a positive attitude about everything no matter how bad things are.  She is the first to always ask how your day is going and is the first person in line to give you a hug or ear when you really need one, no matter if you are still an employee at LSSC or a past employee.”

Sheila started out her career at LSSC in January of 1985. She has wore many hats for Linton Elementary and is currently the 5th grade teacher’s assistant. She is a proud 1972 graduate of LSHS, and completed her 2 year accounting at Indiana Business School in 1974.

Sheila and her husband, Edward L. McCammon, has raised 3 children who have also blessed them with grandkids. Sheila stated that in her free time she attends her grandkids activities, volunteers, works with the youth at Linton First United Methodist, reads, and travels.
