Cause for Applause December Recipient
MontgomeryA teacher at the Linton-Stockton Elementary School is the most recent Cause for Applause winner. This is a monthly award from the Linton-Stockton School Corporation for those who go above and beyond their normal duties.
For the month of December, Shannon Montgomery won the honor. The person that nominated Shannon stated that she “has been an excellent teacher for my daughter. She makes my daughter actually enjoy going to school.  She is very nice and she is always such a happy person.”
Shannon started as an elementary teacher in August of 1986.  She is a graduate of Ohio County High School in Beaver Dam, Kentucky.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Murray State University and her Master of Arts Degree from Western Kentucky University.
Shannon is married to Rich and they have two children, Joel and Ashton (Montgomery) Shetler.  Shannon has two grandchildren, Everly Montgomery and Grayson Montgomery.
When asked what she does in her spare time, Shannon replied “I like to read.  I also like to play with my grandchildren.  They keep me laughing, limber, and on my toes.”  Shannon added that “it is a blessing to teach at Linton-Stockton Elementary. Our elementary team works very hard to take care of the academic, physical, and emotional needs of our students and each other.  I couldn’t ask for a better school family.”
Congratulations Shannon on being named the December Cause for Applause award recipient!
