The Head Custodian at the Linton-Stockton Elementary School is the most recent Cause for Applause winner. This is a monthly award from the Linton-Stockton School Corporation for those who go above and beyond their normal duties.

This month, Teresa Carpenter won the honor. The person that nominated Teresa stated “she gives a lot of her own time each year to help our students in any way that she can.  She also helps our staff and administration in making our school fun and safe.  Her work is usually behind the scenes and you will never know that she has done a lot of it because she is a humble lady that brings joy to our school.”

Teresa started her employment for the Linton-Stockton School Corporation in 1985.  She was a teacher assistant for seventeen years, a custodian for six years and she has been the head custodian at the elementary for nine years.  She graduated from Linton-Stockton High School.  She has been a PTO member for over twenty years, where she is the current PTO coordinator.  She is a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, and she is a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church, where she has been a Sunday school teacher for sixteen years.

She is married to Dan and they have three children, Eric, Brandy Kohlman, and Danielle Feltner, and six grandchildren, Whitney and Dalton Carpenter, Grayson and Amasa Kohlman, and Hayden and Avery Feltner. Teresa added that she “has three wonderful special friends, Quinton, Caitlyn and Ethan Jenkins.”

In her free time, Teresa “enjoys anything that involves watching her grandchildren”, and she admits that her “biggest enjoyment in life is seeing a smile on a child’s face that you helped put there.”

Congratulations Teresa!
